The Government Green Grant Program (GRGP) offers financial assistance to eligible residents.

How to Apply for the GRGP

In general, applicants must:

be currently or have previously qualified as a full-time student at a qualifying university in one of the five following subjects: arts or sciences, business, teaching or technical studies, law, humanities, medicine, business, education or natural and applied sciences; or be enrolled as a part-time student at a qualifying university.

be in one of the following categories: foreign nationals under 26 years of age with the exception of applicants who are Australian citizens or permanent residents;

have demonstrated financial need; and

hold a university course or certificate; and

be eligible for a student visa.

Who can apply?

The GRGP is open to students who have:

a bachelor degree from a school within Victoria

a university degree in one of the following subjects: arts and sciences, business, teaching or technical studies, law, humanities, medicine, business, education or natural and applied sciences; or

been enrolled in a course offering the qualification; and

demonstrated financial need.

How much is the GRGP?

The GRGP is a grant that may be used towards the actual tuition costs of: the fees for courses offered through the university; or the fees for a study support package that includes tuition for the course and travel to and from the educational institution (for example, if you have a scholarship for travel to a specific university or another suitable provider).

How do you qualify?

Applicants must receive a B.Sc. (or an equivalent) in at least one of the four categories mentioned above (arts and sciences, business, teaching or technical studies, law, humanities, medicine, business, education or natural and applied sciences), or hold a university or college B.Sc. in one of the following subject areas (articulation) of a recognised university: arts and sciences, business, teaching or technical studies, law, humanities, medicine, business, education or natural and applied sciences; or hold a university or college B.Sc. in one of the following subject areas (articulation of a recognised university); education or natural and applied sciences.

Does the GRGP also cover eligible tertiary education?
