The former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired on Friday, made a rather interesting statement after meeting with former President Obama.
In an interview on The Sean Hannity Show on Monday, Scaramucci said that Obama told him that he asked Trump “to be a better man, because you were the best president we had.”
The conversation between Obama and Scaramucci took place in the White House Oval Office on the Saturday prior to the 2016 election. As Scaramucci described it, Obama said the following: “This is not a time for political correctness. If it isn’t politically correct you shouldn’t be talking about politics. But I am here to say, you were the best president we had. And your team has done a magnificent job. You will always be my second choice and for that alone you will be my second choice. … If you’re going to run, be the guy to make the case that he’s the best president we’ve ever had. I’ve watched you. You’re an intelligent guy. You’ve got great instincts. You’re smart. And your team has done a terrific job. Go do what’s best.”
Scaramucci then goes on to explain that Obama then said to him, “You’ve got to be a better man.”
“So, I think that’s what he meant,” Scaramucci said.
