How much does it cost to shoot a music video? – Learn How To Shoot Video With Dslr

A video is typically 20-30 minutes long and takes about 1-2 hours of work to produce. For example, take a video for The White Stripes, which takes about 2.5 hours in total. If the video has been previously shot on a DSLR, the additional lighting needed to fill the background with light is very minimal.

Why Shoot Video?

It’s difficult to explain but we’ve found that many of our fans, and even our fans themselves, have never heard of digital cameras.

They think digital is a fad which has now settled on being a fad (no offense to you).

But the good news is the next generation of cameras is coming out very soon, such as the 4K Nikon D4, the 3D Sony a7S II, and the new Sony a7SII PRO.

These cameras which can be purchased in the US for up to $1500 will have built in optical zoom, a much better image quality, and much faster speeds. By the time they hit the streets, you’ll be able to shoot a lot faster than you can now.

You’ll also be able to shoot in lower light with better exposure and much more dynamic range.

What Are the Camera Settings In A Music Video?

Here are the general settings that you’ll need to have open during your music video production.

The first thing you’ll notice from the images, and even watching the video, is how bright the image is.

In the example below you’ll notice that there is no contrast, a lot of reds and blues, and very little detail in the background.

So the next step in lighting a video is to adjust the color balance. This will change the way your subject is lit, and will have an enormous impact on the effect you can have on the video.

For the lighting shots use a bright light. Use a very bright spot where there is a lot of bright light on the subject, and don’t light in the shadows (except on the subject’s face, or the background).

For the background shots you’ll use a bright spot that is bright enough but not overly bright.

In the example below, we are setting the camera to a very warm light, which is the color of a summer sunset.

This bright spot will light up the object that is being lit, creating a softer image.
