This season, DC is releasing a new series based on a classic character of the DC Universe: Blue Beetle. He’s the best, but is he the only good guy? We got to see how these two characters interact through five episodes with John Wesley Shipp as Blue Beetle. And after watching five episodes, I can tell you the answer is no. It’s only a matter of time before the Flash takes up the mantle as the Blue Beetle.
There have been a string of great Batman: The Animated Series episodes this year, and the Batman: The Animated Series episode, “Escape from Arkham”, is a masterpiece. If you didn’t see it yet, start there. This is the best Batman: The Animated Series episode so far, and the best Batman Animated Series episode I’ve watched. There have been hints that Green Arrow, Black Canary (Cori Renée), the Martian Manhunter, and the rest of the League of Assassins are preparing for an attack on Team Arrow at some point in The New 52 (I think the issue was called 52, which means 52-1). We heard Arrow may be the target, and now the writers of The CW’s Arrow were on the call with us, getting the details from DC.
During a recent interview with Collider, DC Universe’s Senior Editor John Buscema had a very important question for Arrow’s creators—
“Do you want to explore Green Arrow’s story a bit here, given how he is one of our best known characters?”
I know you like to tease, so now’s the time to do it. It was really fun to watch their response. We know it’s a risky move for these two shows to be doing, but I think their answer is just as intriguing as the one Buscema just posed.
The Green Arrow has always been a character that DC has really wanted to explore. There were rumors about a Green Arrow/Batman crossover in Green Arrow #21 (2012), however, that was never officially announced. In fact, the crossover was announced right in the title
