The truth is that it’s all a matter of personal taste.
When I was younger I had a “beautiful” mother. My stepfather, in some ways, has been the perfect role model. He was the best, I think, at being everything I wanted to be when I was young. My father was my best friend. He was very sweet, kind and always there for me.
But I think he was one of those men who were too much of a perfectionist.
I’d like to think he was just too much of a perfectionist himself.
He was more of a man who was passionate about what he was doing. I think he’s a better example of what I’m trying to do. I definitely have a lot of respect for him right now. But I think he’s probably got more room to evolve.
I hope that in time I can look back at what I did with The Love and The Loneliness as if it was my first big project. I hope when this album comes out and the world hears it, people will say, “Damn, he did that. He did exactly what I wanted him to do. He did everything perfect from the start.”
The real answer is no. But I do like what I did. All I know about music is from my father — his own thoughts on making a record, ideas he had, when ideas came about. And if it’s perfect then I do.
I made this pie using my 3rd batch from a loaf bag. I added some applejack-flavored cheese and topped it off with dried figs. This pie only took a couple of hours from start to finish. All in all, it was just the ingredients for one pie! It tastes just like a classic apple and vanilla filling, but has the added touch of fresh cut figs. It’s a nice contrast.
