A. Yes. They have a lot of energy and passion. Their members all seem to have had an incredible experience. They live it. I love that they’re able to express themselves just like any other artists. When you see them perform, you actually get inspired.
Q. How do you like it living in the U.S.?
A. It’s definitely better than Korea. I can come over and see my friends more regularly and spend more time with them. I don’t see them as frequently as in Korea because of the time difference, so most of the time they’re in front of their computers or work, and I tend to get up to go to bed. When I do go, it’s for one hour, maybe.
Q. What do you prefer in a city?
A. I prefer to have my own space. Seoul has a lot going for it. If you look at some of the music stores around here, they actually have a lot of options for music. In Korea, you have too many choices.
Q. Do you have a favorite song in BTS’s latest album?
A. There is a song about Korean food that I really like, “I Need Your Love.” It’s a song about how important it is to be loved and needed. People who love you make you happy, and it’s because you’re loved. The song is basically about what I feel like, “I need you, I need you so badly.”
Q. What kind of advice would you have for aspiring musicians?
A. Keep your ears open. Get a good ear for different music. You can learn a lot from artists that are already big.
Q. Do you have any ideas for future projects?
A. I think it is going to be really fun to do a tour for the U.S. and North America after “Blood Sweat & Tears.” We’ve already done a U.S. tour for “Spring Day” and it was really fun. I think a U.S. tour would be a good idea for BTS. I love that they have a U.S. fan base.
“Blood Sweat & Tears” will be released on this November 23rd. Listen to “I Need Your Love” below, and catch the rest of BTS on a U.S. tour with Justin Bieber, OneRepublic, Lorde, and more.
