Is it hard to read? Or to take a long time to learn?
Yes. It’s very hard to learn something on your own. Especially if you are not familiar with the subject you are studying. This is very true of music studies as a whole. The only way we can achieve this is to have a great teacher like Mozart. The other way is to do things ourselves and it will take a while. We might have to learn all the stuff by ourselves (like the piano itself) or just some of it. You have to have a lot of patience…
What’s the hardest task you face as a teacher today?
Practicing the piano every day, or getting better.
What is the most rewarding experience you’ve had as a teacher?
Learning how to play the piano.
What advice would you give to a young musician or musician looking for some advice or inspiration?
There is only one rule for life. And that is to enjoy EVERYTHING you do for the rest of YOUR life. That’s it. You should never worry about what you were doing in the past or what you should have been doing. And if you do worry about it, think about what you have already done, because we are always adding stuff to our brains — whether it is positive or negative. What is the thing that you have already done? Why did you do it? Does it make you feel better or better? And then choose something different …
