A new boiler is needed if your current boiler has fallen into disrepair or is in a state where it is unsafe. To apply for a grant, you must complete a boiler safety report and send it to us within 30 days of the boiler falling into disrepair. When your boiler is assessed and the report is prepared, we will also assess any changes to your boiler.
Are there any fees for the boiler safety reports?
No, there is no fee for using the boiler safety reports. However, there are additional costs incurred by us as part of our inspection regime.
I want a boiler inspection if I don’t live in a house with a boiler
If your house has a boiler, we may come to your door to inspect it with your consent for an additional fee of $5 per hour. This cost covers additional costs associated with the boiler inspection.
There is a limit of one boiler inspection per homeowner with each inspection occurring for a maximum of 15 minutes time period.
If the owner of the boiler is unable to pay for the inspection, you may contact our inspector directly.
What if I can’t afford the inspections?
If you live in a house without a boiler, or in a rural area, it may be difficult to get a boiler inspection. A local boiler safety advocate may be able to help you to find resources that may be helpful. Contact the boiler safety advocate as soon as possible to discuss your situation.
I am having difficulty using my boiler as the thermostat was set too high or too low
If you live in a house without a boiler, or are a rural resident, you should contact a boiler safety advocate to discuss your situation. While we can help as much or as little as we can determine based on your specific situation, we can’t guarantee the safety of your boiler in the absence of an expert boiler safety advocate.
I’m having problems with my insulation. Is there a furnace inspector here?
As part of the monitoring and maintenance programme we undertake, we are now installing a furnace inspector. This ensures that we can detect any problems with your furnace and alert you directly as soon as these problems are detected by the furnace inspector.
