How do I know if I qualify for Pell Grants?
Please read the P.E.I. Loan Program Application FAQ for eligibility information. There may be extra questions you need to answer as a result of your application.
Can I apply for Pell Grants if I have no credit score?
In most cases, yes. There are no restrictions on Pell Grants if you have a score above 720 on your credit report. If you have a score of 850-955, you should apply for a grant only if you have no other eligibility for financial aid.
What if I am a first-time borrower and I need to apply for my loans?
If you have an outstanding balance on your federally guaranteed student loan that you cannot pay, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to apply for a loan.
You will not need to file an application and you will be able to apply until your debt is fully paid.
Where can I obtain basic financial help for my family?
The federal government helps people pay for college. These include financial aid, loans and grants. You can access more information about the programs in P.E.I.
