Rizos and Rodriguez are currently in talks about working together and then making their own movie.
I have never been asked to do any of these things again [from a studio],” explained Rizos. “I went to a place where they really were concerned about me, but I think that they felt like they had to make the movie in the most natural way. I have a sense of pride in what I was able to accomplish for them. I’m very thankful. I’m very grateful to Rizos for that.”
Rodriguez is best known for his work on “Kill Bill: Vol. 1,” “Kill Bill,” “X-Men: First Class,” “X-Men,” and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” He has also directed “Spider-Man,” “Sin City,” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
“Godzilla” is expected to open in July 2012 and will be produced by Jon Jashni and Bryan Singer. The film is based on a 2007 Japanese film by the same name.
