How do I become a filmmaker without film school? – Filmmaking Podcasts Reddit

No matter how accomplished you are, filmmaking is not about making money. It’s about learning how to make good movies, and that’s a skill that can be mastered without a film degree.

It’s also worth noting that the education we provide to filmmakers is in most cases no longer applicable in today’s market. It has become harder and harder to find great filmmakers without a degree — that is, to create better movies.

Why doesn’t everyone get that? Because all filmmaking is different, and each filmmaker has their own unique approach (and sometimes
