Take a piece of paper and get yourself a unicorn horn!
I’m going to keep it short, but if you want to spend time on detail and theory you should take the time to read this book. Not only is it incredibly detailed and informative, but it’s also funny and informative at the same time.
Here’s a bit more of what the author had to say about the theory
“In mathematics, the term ‘symmetry’ essentially means that in one area your equations may appear the same in a different field. (In my case, mathematics.) In an area where there are other things you’re studying, you have to make assumptions about the field your studying. In that field you are taking an assumption and trying to prove it with mathematical principles. As such, the mathematical theories are made from different assumptions and therefore in a sense you can learn them in the same field at the same time.
One of the most important things to understand in a proof is to distinguish between assumptions that might be correct and assumptions that may be incorrect.”-John Archibald Wheeler, “Mathematical Realism”
John can’t agree more. I found his book to be extremely helpful.
If you want to learn more about mathematics, I highly recommend the book “The Art of Mathematical Proofs.” In my opinion, I think that’s one of the best math books out there.
I’m currently taking over the “A Mathematical Theory” in my master’s program. I have been doing research on the theory of proofs, and I am constantly learning new things in new topics. What are your favourite books or blogs I should check out? Let me know in the comment section below.
