Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, according to reports in France.

The 24-year-old is on the fringes of his current club after failing to secure a new deal at Old Trafford.

It is, however, believed that Bailly has decided to hold out for a new deal after struggling to force his way back into the first team, in what would be an amazing turn around for the France international.

Newcastle want to re-sign the former Lyon man but he is being linked with Everton and Tottenham.

The two top clubs are reported to be keen on a deal which would see Bailly move across the Channel to North London.
